2 EGGNOG RECIPES
Here, we present two eggnog recipes that you might already know well because, as it seems, eggnog is as old as time itself…
1) Cognac Eggnog
Ingredients:
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 small coffee cup of cognac
- Grated nutmeg
Preparation: Cognac Eggnog
- In a small bowl or consommé cup, beat the egg yolks and sugar until they become pale.
- Warm the cognac in a small saucepan, but do not let it boil.
- Gradually add the warm cognac to the egg yolk mixture, stirring continuously to prevent cooking the eggs.
- Sprinkle with grated nutmeg to taste and serve hot.
If you’d prefer a milder eggnog, add a little water to the cognac before heating it. Using the same process, you can make milk eggnog, port wine eggnog (the most famous), rum eggnog, sweet wine eggnog, red wine eggnog, etc. If you prefer, you can beat the egg yolks with less sugar and add cinnamon and nutmeg.
2) Milk Eggnog
This is the most common of all eggnog recipes.
Ingredients:
- Sugar to taste
- 1 glass of milk for every 2 egg yolks
- Cinnamon and nutmeg
Preparation: Milk Eggnog
- Follow the same steps as the previous recipe and serve hot.
